So,
A couple of weeks ago Jackson Racing sent me a note to tell me that the '99-'00 version of the carger is now available for the CR-V. I'm pretty sure that I could get Capitol Honda here in San Jose to install it. (which has advantages)
Has anybody here had experience with a blown CR-V?

Well it's just a civic motor, isn't it? The CR-V has NO torque, so I'm sure it would make it more drivable. Go for it, but plan on keeping your CR-V for a while, unless you like burning money.

Oh, I'm not out to race in my CRV. I'm thinking of the SC for purely functional reasons. As Jim said, the thing has _NO_ top end power which can make merging and passing on the freeways a bit...Exciting.
BTW - Playing around witht the Gtech today while driving the CRV. 0-60 in 14.5, 1/4 in 18.36 with a speed of 71.1mph! Woohoo! Talk about a pokey ride.

Capitol Honda wants a shit load of money to install it though. They quoted my friend $3,000 for blower and $900 to install. You have to buy the blower from them or they won't touch it.

Sean,
Get the blower... your drivability will vastly improve. Your freeway passes will no longer be scary !!!

Lund is confused...
The CRV motor is a 2.0L "B" series DOHC motor. It has lots of torque... just no top-end HP... because there is NO VTEC. The blower helps a bunch.
It still is not a street killer... but it will surprise some folks !!!

FoxRocket, I dropped by Hopkins Honda in Sunnyvale today. They finished the new building and it looks really nice. They sell some badges, air fresheners, 5zigen wheels, etc. They also do superchargers. They quoted me 3295 for sc and install for a Si. So you might want to check them out.

So, after driving the CR-V for over 1500 miles this wonderful weekend this is not a 'would be nice to do.' This IS going to happen. SOON. (running down to Orange County to get the stock parts from my Integra out out storage)
Anybody got a good price on a '99-'00 CR-V JRSC kit? In theory this monster should exsist.

I was considering a sc for my CRV as well - I drive it to Colorado, and those big hills are hell in that thing... anyway my question is my CRV is automatic and all wheel drive... is the supercharger going to break my tranny and/or the awd system @6psi?? also.. with just 6 psi and retarded ignition, is detonation still a problem, or is that only when you raise the bost?
